CUT, STITCH & MIX FASHION SHOW
Each member of the class was allocated a specific duty during the Fashion show.
I was assigned the Camera Operator position, situated on the ground floor of the Theatre room. Camera Operation involved Successfully executing instructions delivered by the Director (Jacq Cox)
Before the initial show, we rehearsed the full performance on several different occasions. In my opinion, the rehearsal period was very tense and stressful due to the limited knowledge we had using the equipment. There was a lot of confusion when it came to organising camera wires, sorting the correct style lighting. Progress was slow but steady and by the third rehearsal, we we're on track.
However, we managed to pull off a brilliant performance on the night, equipment was in place, each member of the team knew their roles and successfully adhered to directions from the Director Jacq Cox.
Although, there were many obstacles and challenging decisions we had to make during the show. One of the main problems were, how bright the lights were. This was effectively solved with the aid of the walkie talkies, which we discussed ideas upon. We also had to decide on how long each Graphic Projection would last for, bearing in mind our goal was to keep the audience engaged and entertained.
After the show, i felt very satisfied with my personal performance as i had just finished my role operating the camera.
Looking back, I believe that as a unit we performed very competently. Although if more Time were allocated to rehearse and familiarise ourselves with the equipment and the new surroundings , we would have done an even better job.

MULTI CAM ANALYSIS

This Multi Camera Set up footage was taken from the 2012 NBA playoffs between the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat. Due to the fact that it's a Live Sports Match, shot variation had to be evident. Most importantly short cuts. A successful example of this is at 1:02 where the camera is at a Dynamic wide angle shot, showing initial play and crowd. After a basket is scored, the camera immediately cuts to an extreme close up of the player that scored, lasting 0:2 seconds.
On The Other Hand, The Two Door Cinema Multi cam is a live show set up. Meaning, camera movement is far more smooth and steady as opposed to the quick transition cuts seen in the live sports match |
